1Password doesn't work with browser installed in ~/Applications

I moved my browser (Firefox) from /Applications to ~/Applications, but 1Password complained that it can't verify the identity of the web browser and it should be moved to /Applications. There are obvious security advantages of having the browser in ~/Applications. Why wouldn't 1Password work with browser outside of ~/Applications?

  • @lpn,

Unfortunately as a sandboxed application 1Password cannot verify the signature of Firefox unless it is in the proper system-wide /Applications folder. ~/Applications is not on Apple's whitelist for the API.
