Any tips for getting postal addresses to autofill more often?

I searched the forum and only found a post from '15 on this topic that said "we haven't found a good solution". Just curious if anyone has figured anything out. It seems like this works worse now than it used to.

What is the issue you are experiencing exactly?

When there are fields (address, city, state, zip) on a website for mailing address, I use the 1password helper and choose an identity that has a mailing address in it, but it doesn’t fill anything.

It used to work sometimes but now it never works.

Extension is 4.7.5.90. (Didn't post it earlier because the "how do I find my browser extension version" link was dead)

An example is tough.. it's usually an order/payment page and I don't know if I can get at one that doesn't require you to be logged in as me. I just googled "enter address" and got this amazon form; not sure what it's for, but 1password doesn't populate anything in it other than my name and phone number. https://www.amazon.com/gp/rental/buy/addressedit/controller.html

Does the address section in your Identity item look similar to this?

Interestingly, I have an old identity, who's data looks more like yours (non capitalized "address") and it does work.

I tried decapitalizing "address" on the first one to see if that would make it work, but it doesn't. I'm assuming that something in the data format for this stuff changed at some point. (the identity that works is from 2015-ish)

Hey @jcharles00. If you create a brand-new test Identity item, does that fill properly for you? This is another good test page that I'd be curious whether it works for you:

So that form behaves as the other one.. My recently created addresses only fill Firstname Lastname and phone. The much older address all fills fine.

I just created a new identity and it works! I don't know why it didn't occur to me to try that before, but thanks for the tip!

We're glad to hear a new identity item works well. Not entirely sure what exactly happened there with your previous one, but if you encounter the issue again do let us know and we'll try to dig deeper.
