How to Automatically Move Messages Marked as Spam to Trash?

I've been hammered with spam lately and am manually marking messages as spam. But then they reappear moments later in the same inbox highlighted in a brown/gold font (Dark mode on Mac). So I have to select them a second time and then Delete. It's bad enough that I'm getting a ton of spam that I have to manually mark as Spam, but then I have to reselect the same messages to delete. Is there a setting that will move them to trash or the Spam folder in one step? Thanks!

    Hi @jamesb303!

    Perhaps this is a question better addressed to your email provider, or to your email client. Which email service are you using, and in which email app?

    I'm using Mac mail. I understand that it isn't necessarily under the control of 1Password but I thought that the plugin used to move them to the Spam folder automatically.

    It also isn't catching spam from the same names. Like I get a porn email constantly from "xmilfs" and though I mark it as Spam, they still get through with the same name. Maybe something is not working overall that includes the automatic moving to the Spam folder?

    @jamesb303:

    I am not a Mail.app expert, but I know there is an option to automatically move spam messages to the Spam folder, instead of just marking them as spam and leaving them in the Inbox (which is what is sounds like it's happening to you). See for example the Change junk mail filter settings section in this documentation page from Apple:

    Reduce junk mail in Mail on Mac - Apple.com

  • @jamesb303,

    I think you might be confusing 1Password with another application. 1Password doesn't have a Mail plugin, nor really have anything to do with spam or email filtering.
