Mozilla 1Password browswer icon locked w/no pswd option

I have a personal and business computer. Use the Mozilla browser. I updated the browser extension on my personal computer and unlocked the browser extension icon with secret key, etc. worked great! Love the auto fill-in . Did same on business computer (separate computer) no luck. Browser is up-to-date, deleted and reloaded 1Password extension, restarted Mozilla. The browser extension remains locked and doesn't ask for me to sign in to open - no sign-in dialogue pops up.

Can you confirm that Mozilla on your business computer has the correct permissions set for 1Password to run?

    1. Click the Firefox menu at the top right of your browser toolbar and click Add-ons.
    2. Click the three dots next to the 1Password and choose Manage.
    3. Make sure that "Run in Private Windows" is set to Allow.
    4. Click on Firefox Preferences at the bottom left of the screen and choose Privacy & Security.
    5. Under "History" make sure "Firefox will" is set to Remember History.

Run is private windows is on. However, Remember history appears to force me out of using private browser mode. Is that the only way to make this work...if so, I wish that was noted before I deleted my old icon...it worked.

@twrang – Chantelle already mentioned the gist of it, but I’d be happy to clarify what exactly is happening here and how to avoid it. While in private browsing mode, Firefox prevents extensions from accessing the local database, which 1Password relies on in order to function properly.

There isn't a way around that, as far as I know, although I've been able to tighten my Firefox security settings without using private browsing mode. It's up to you which direction you'd like to go. Our newest extension (the one you're using now) will offer you a much more seamless browsing experience. However, you can install our old extension by visiting this page.
