Protecting editable document

Hi everyone!

I read this article about protecting files within 1Password, and I got a couple of questions.

  1. Is the whole file encrypted inside the whole password vault?
  2. Can the document be edited or is it just read only? I mean, can I open a .doc file -for instance- from 1Password, change a line or add something, save it and close it again?

Thank you!

    Hi @pol!

Is the whole file encrypted inside the whole password vault?

Yes, everything inside your vault is encrypted, including document items.

Can the document be edited or is it just read only? I mean, can I open a .doc file -for instance- from 1Password, change a line or add something, save it and close it again?

It cannot be edited inside the 1Password app directly I am afraid: you will have to download the document, edit, and upload it to your vault once again.
