Browser extension locks every browser session

Every time there is an update I have to through a routine, which i forget, in order to leave the extension unlocked between Firefox sessions. This time I can't get it back to remaining unlocked. I never lock and settings are set to unlocked.
The laptop app remains unlocked at all times.
This time I completely removed the app from laptop and started from scratch with a fresh install of app and browser extension and laptop restart with no luck.
Please provide me the secret as this is so annoying.

  • Hi @remltr

Do you have a vault called 'Primary' in your 1Password for Mac app? I noticed you specified iCloud as your sync type, but if that is true your setup would be incompatible with 1Password in the Browser. 1Password in the Browser requires using 1Password.com.

If you do not have a Primary vault could you please check that you have the latest version (2.0 as of writing) of the extension installed in Firefox? You can find it here:

    https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1password-x-password-manager/?src=search

With v2 there is integration with the Mac app, so that they should lock and unlock together. Please let me know.

My apologies. I sync with a personal paid account. Used to use the Mac app and kept the primary via icloud. I still have the primary but no longer use it.
I do have the current extension 2.0.1 updated today.

  • Gotcha! Thanks for clarifying.

I still have the primary but no longer use it.

That's what's holding you up then. That would need to be deleted. :) I'd like to get you in touch with our specialists who work on standalone migrations to make sure that removal goes smoothly. To facilitate that please drop us an email to support+forum@1password.com and include a link to this thread:

I did as you requested. Waiting for the auto reply.
Took a chance and deleted the current extension and loaded the classic extension,
That worked straight away without having to sign in.
Although this works I would like a more permanent solution, hopefully tech support can fulfill that wish.
    Thank you.
