How to save updated login manually?

There are some sites which don't have the "Remember Me" box ticked in 1P, I used to be able to tick them and then easily go to "Save New Login" and Update/Replace the current one so it would have it stored...recently 1P has a new interface and I can't figure out how to do this...can someone tell me? Thanks.

  • Hi @safercracker823456

I've recorded a brief video showing the process:

    https://bucket.agilebits.com/tmp/ben/2021-06-01 12-47-24.mp4

    In this video I show:

    1. Saving the initial Login item, which doesn't have the 'remember me' checkbox checked
    2. Checking the box
    3. Updating the existing item with the changes
    4. Verifying that the updated item does indeed check the box when filled

    I hope that helps!

    Ben

Hi, thanks for the video. When I click on the round 1P icon in the password box, however, I don't get the option to save (I took a screen capture if there's any way to attach it).

@safercracker823456 You can also right click the 1Password icon on the top right corner of your browser and select "Save Login" to trigger the save prompt manually :)

Thanks that method does allow me to update the login but when I go back the "Remember Me" button is still unchecked...maybe something to do with the browser extension? (using Chrome)

@safercracker823456 Can you please try saving a brand new login with the "Remember Me" button checked instead of trying to update your existing login and see if the new login does autofill the remember me checkbox?

Hi yes, it appeared to work (I'll just delete the old one).

(Doesn't seem to make any difference in terms of automatic login however lol).

Thank you for the update! That's nice to hear :)

Can you please elaborate? What do you mean with "automatic login"?

I thought by having "Remember Me" ticked when I went to the website it would log me in automatically without having to go to the 1P extension...probably unsafe for some reason though right?

    Hey @safercracker823456 ,

If you tick the "Remember Me" box before you log into the forum, you shouldn't have to log in again the next time you want to visit the forum (unless you specifically visit the login page again instead of opening the forum's home page.

If you still find yourself in need of logging into the forum every time you visit, then perhaps your browser is clearing your cache/cookies every time you close it?
