Safari Mac Browser Extension Not Working

Big Sur 11.3.1/Safari 14.1/MacBook Pro
All Safari>Preferences>Autofill option unchecked.
Remedies attempted:
Restart Safari
Enable/Disable 1 Password extension (Enabling brings up a dialog saying that an extension known to disable clicking is trying to activate. That's not mentioned in the documentation AFAIK)
Quit 1Password completely and relaunch.
Restart machine.

On many websites, clicking into a form field does not bring up any autofill options.
Example: [https://www.bernhardtdesignplank.com/about#sub-Contact]

When I had the Autofill options turned on, 1Password popups often hid the very fields I was trying to fill.
This latest update has made 1Password difficult and annoying to use. It's too bad, it was such a great product before. If it's not seamless, it's annoying.

My family are just about ready to ditch 1Password for some other solution.

Anyone know how to fix this?

    Hey @pixeljammer 👋

Thanks for reaching out, and I'd be happy to help. Looking at the website you mentioned (https://www.bernhardtdesignplank.com/about#sub-Contact), the only field I'd expect 1Password to appear in on that page is the email field. Is that what you're looking at? I don't see a sign in form or a registration form on that page. Do you happen to have any other examples of websites where you're not seeing the inline menu the way you'd expect? I'd love to investigate!

I turned all the Autofill checkboxes on except User Names and Passwords, and everything seems to work fine now. I somehow got the idea that 1Password was going to take over those duties.

    Thanks for your help.

@pixeljammer – Ah, that makes sense. 1Password can indeed fill Identity items, and the inline menu will appear in fields like email addresses. If you're wanting to fill an Identity item, but there isn't an email address field on the page, you can always click the 1Password icon in your browser toolbar to select an Identity to fill. I hope that helps!

    It does indeed. Thanks again.
