Bug: 1password does not know YouTube accounts are google accounts!

When you visit YouTube you see no suggestions. That's because 1password is not smart enough to know that YouTube accounts are basically Google accounts. This is strange for such a tried and tested password manager. How has no one ever noticed this!

I'd say this is working as intended? There is no way to sign in on the url https://youtube.com. All Google property sign ins happen on https://accounts.google.com.

True. It would have been nice if 1pasword still could show how many accounts I have for that website. This is a common knowledge for youtube however there are many seemingly unrelated websites of microsoft whose domains are different, yet they use the same login. It would be nice to know that I have an account on for that particular website even if it uses the common microsoft login for example. This information would not be common for general user, however for people at 1password this should be easy to define.

Hey @iCloud and @plttn – I can definitely see both sides here. While it'd be great to know you've got a "YouTube" Login, in a way, you don't really have a YouTube Login at all. 🤔

We do take note of websites that share backend systems. In fact, we use Apple's password-manager-resources documentation for that. However, YouTube isn't listed there, and I'm not entirely sure that "sharing a backend" is what YouTube is doing.

In order for your Google Login to appear as a suggestion on www.youtube.com, the YouTube website URL would need to be added to your 1Password Login item. That makes your Google credentials safe to fill on www.youtube.com, so just keep that in mind. It's a workaround that's available for you, but I wouldn't recommend getting into the habit of it.
