The previous discussion you are linking to refers to an old feature that no longer exists (Desktop App Integration). We have released a similar (but different) feature called Shared Lock State which does allow your 1Password in the browser connect to the desktop app, and it uses a different Native Messaging Hosts file.
Can you please try the following:
- Right click the 1Password extension icon in the top right corner of your browser and select "Settings". If you don't see a 1Password icon there, it may be hiding in the grey puzzle piece icon in that area.
- Turn off the "Integrate with 1Password app" option there.
- Turn it back on and see if the extension now shares the lock state with the desktop app (it should unlock automatically if the desktop app is unlocked).
In case that didn't work, we'll need to get some logs and a diagnostics report from your computer. Please send it to support+x@1password.com:
