1Password for Linux, 8.1.0-66
Greetings, everyone! We are, suddenly, very nearly halfway through 2021! π
And wow, what a scorcher it's being! π‘I know that those of you on the Pacific coast are having a rough time of it right now. Please do whatever it takes to stay safe. Those record-breaking temperatures frighten even the Texan in me (30 years in the Austin area). π±
π This week, we have a stack of bug fixes and some quality of life improvements. Several folks have requested that we clean up how we handle new windows, and this week we have an answer. Whenever 1Password opens a new window, such as with the new "Open item in new window" feature, we will always try to open the new window on the same display as the current 1Password window.
We have also changed how we prioritize items in Quick Search, giving much higher priority to favorite items so they are more likely to appear at the top of the list. Finally, we have added a feature that lets advanced users see the details of a web form associated with an item.
Check out our release notes for a full list.
Installing and Upgrading
You can always download the latest stable release on our website.
On DEB and RPM-based systems, if you install the stable release, your system will automatically track the stable releases. We expect to make a stable release of 1Password every one to two months, but we will continue to release the beta version every week. If you wish to track the beta channel, download from the beta page, instead.
Beta releases are more likely to have regressions than stable. At any time, you can edit these files again to switch back to the stable channel.
That is it for this week! See you again next week. π
