Feature Request - turning back to previous password in updating process
Often there is a problem, when changing passwords on accounts, as some accounts do not accept a proposed new password (e.g. because it is too long, or is containing characters not allowed etc.). And in that cases I am regulary running into trouble, because the 1password login is already updated with the new password, but the login itself remains to the old one, and I am logged out then.

usually with the browser app (latest version Mac, 2.04). Steps are as follows: I am logging in into a account XYZ.com, using 1password browser app. When I am going to change my password within my profile at XYZ.com, and 1pssword is offering me a proposed new password. I am asked by 1password to update my login credentials for XYZ.com, and I consent. If now XYZ.com is refusing to accept the new password, I am out of sync (old password still valid in XYZ.com, but Password for XYZ.com in 1password already updated. That's it

Hey @hvonkauf ,
In such cases, you can still remain on the "Change Password" form and generate a new custom password, then send the form yet again and see if it accepts the new password (and update the login item again with the newer password on the same breath): https://support.1password.com/getting-started-browser/#create-a-custom-password
You can repeat this process of generating a new password and updating the login item with the new password for as many times as needed until the website accepts the new password.
There are two edge cases in which we have failsafes for which you might find handy:
- Situations where the website still asks for your original (old) password, in which case you can recover the old password from the item's history: https://support.1password.com/item-history/
- Situations where you use the generator and apply a new password on the website, but did not update the login item with the new password so now the new password is lost. You can recover newly generated passwords from the extension's generator history: https://support.1password.com/recover-unsaved-password/
I hope you'll find this helpful :)

Also very helpful to others encountering similar issues. Thanks @ag_yaron.
Had a weird one the other day when I set up my SSA online account. 1Password/SSA somehow conspired to create TWO separate login entries, one with my username in lowercase and a second one in uppercase. I just let it/them do what it/they wanted then deleted the 1Password entry in uppercase. Worked, but sheesh!
