What is the point of a secret key if it won'tthelp me recover my account for which I accidentally lo

I was trying to change my Masterpassword and must have somehow screwed something up such that I can get back in!!! So what is the secret key good for? Wouldn't that gurantee that I'm the owner???

    @shrink2 The secret key provides an additional level of protection to your account. It is not a recovery code and cannot take the place of your master password. Both are required to generate the key which encrypts your data and controls access to your account.

    Have you tried your old and new master passwords on all your devices and at 1password.com? If so, try writing down your new master password on a piece of paper. Then try typing it into a text document and you might find that your fingers move to different keys due to habit or muscle memory. Make a note of those differences and make a list of possible variations on the original. Then try those variations with and without caps lock, shift key, etc.
