1Password 7 Decidedly More Difficult to Use/ I Cannot Find Any Improvements

The interface in 1Password 7 whether in the Mini, or the Browser, or the Main App on my Apple MacBook Pro is decidedly more difficult to navigate and use compared to previous versions, adding extra steps to Login and Fill, and relying on a thin, tiny Suggestions field to navigate.

  1. Version 7 does not highlight the Login details when on a chosen website, forcing the user to navigate first to the reed thin suggestions line which then must be overly manipulated to reach the Login Details. An example: I navigate to my Chase Credit Card site using 1Password and 1Password attempts to fill in the username and password. Oops, this time the password field for some reason is not filled. OK, no problem, surely the Chase "card" will be active in the 1Password app where I can just "run it" again, right? Nope. That's the way 1Password used to work. Not now. The highlighted card in 1Password is sitting/stuck on the first entry in my over 200 entries. No Chase card is there. To locate it, now go through extra steps to navigate up to the tiny suggestions bar, then click that, then navigate through two extra cards because 1Password instead of getting to the Chase card now highlights my name. Finally, I get to the Chase card and click it again.

Who thought adding extra steps was a good idea?

  1. The previous 1Password allowed you to start each session with the Logins list as a default. No longer. Now one can only choose All Items. This is even more unhelpful as now Credit Cards are interweaved into the Login Items. Again, this makes no sense at all. Can't imagine why the user is forced into such a choice.

Please tell me I am wrong. I want to be. I want to use the application with the same ease as before. Also, my UI doesn't look at all like recent screenshots. Yes, I just upgraded to Version 7. Yes, I have all updates.

    Hi @LambethPalace!

You can set 1Password mini to always open to Suggestions under 1Password Preferences > Mini > Open 1Password to Suggestions :+1:

The previous 1Password allowed you to start each session with the Logins list as a default. No longer. Now one can only choose All Items. This is even more unhelpful as now Credit Cards are interweaved into the Login Items. Again, this makes no sense at all. Can't imagine why the user is forced into such a choice.

This is how it still behaves for me, I have just tested it: I opened 1Password, chose the Login category, quit 1Password, reopened it, and it opened still on the Logins category. Can you confirm that you have clicked on Logins at least once?
