1Password 8 and Duo 2FA

I have 1Password 8 up and working on my Mac with my primary account. I tried to add my work account, which is Duo 2FA enabled and I just get an error "We weren't able to sign in to your account. Maybe there's a typo? Check your sign-in details and try again.". I am the Duo security admin and 1Password admin at my company if I need to do anything there.

    We've received a few reports that some folks are having issues with Duo in 1Password 8 for Mac Early Access, and we're currently investigating what exactly is going wrong.

    Could you create a Diagnostic Report and attach it to an email to support+mac@1password.com so we could take a closer look at what's happening behind-the-scenes? Here's how to do that:

    1. Open up the 1Password app, click your account name in the top-left corner of the app, and click Settings from the dropdown menu.
    2. Switch to the Advanced page, and click Send Diagnostics.
    3. Click Reveal to show the diagnostics report in the filesystem. Copy that file, and attach it to your email.

    Once you've sent your email in, you should receive an automated reply that contains a Support ID that looks something like [#ABC-12345-678] -- post that in a comment below and that'll let us "link" things up on our end.

    @jonthanloorphreesia I'm keeping an eye on this also. I opened a ticket with support in the past couple weeks and it was reported this is a known issue and they'd let me know when it's resolved. Doesn't seem like it's going well based on the timeline of this (and other) posts.

    We have resolved some Duo-related issues, but there may very well be additional work to do. If you're still having problems at this point it would be worth confirming we're aware of the specific problem you're running up against.

    Hey folks, I'm having some issues also with the Duo/1Password integration with 1Password 8.

    Looks like the Duo prompt redirects back to a onepassword:// link, which just opens up 1Password 7.

    Is the only bypass to remove 1Password 7? Or is there a 1Password 8 specific 'protocol' which can open just that one? 😄

    There is not, I'm afraid. That's one of the downsides of trying to run both versions on the same system. Removing 1Password 7 should sort it out. If it does not, please try reinstalling 1Password 8 as well, as that may trigger the system to pick up the new callback registrations.

    I'm sorry there isn't a more convenient answer here.
