Searched text stays in Quick Access even if password is copied/window is closed

The text entered into the Quick Access window stays there even after the password is copied/window is closed. This is quite annoying because what happens is that every time I open the Quick Access window, I have to clear the previously searched text. So all I do is Shift+Cmd+Space -> Cmd+A -> Backspace -> Search. It's called "Quick Access", I'd expect as few steps as possible :)

    Hi @davidkaya ,

Thanks so much for the feedback. The current plan is to have Quick Access remember your last search for 60 seconds. To give you quick access to your last search. After 60 seconds the plan is to get the text to clear. I will check internally to make sure that gets implemented.

If you want to clear the text in Quick Access try pressing Cmd+Delete after opening Quick Access. I realize this only reduces the steps by one, but I have found it useful in Quick Access and other search fields around macOS.
