Watchtower flags a password as "Weak" but it says that it's "Very Good" next to it.

The password is 8 random characters (uppercase, a number and a punctuation). This is the same issue for several such accounts/passwords.

I just checked and I have several exactly like that as well as several that show "good" despite being flagged as weak:

  • Hi folks,

Thank you for reporting this. We have an issue filed regarding the incongruence. This is a result of the 'password strength' (ps value) metadata, which is saved as part of the item, is outdated. The metadata is used by the password strength indicator, but not by Watchtower. Watchtower looks at the actual contents of the password instead. As a result this means that currently Watchtower is going to be a more reliable and accurate source. If it has flagged a password as weak we would encourage you to change it to a new one generated by 1Password regardless of what the strength indicator says.

Hopefully we can get this fixed up soon.

    Ben
