Does the new browser extension work with local vaults?

I use 1Password on my work laptop, where they discourage the use of cloud accounts for any of my work passwords. So I use the cloud for my personal vault, and a local vault for the work stuff. Does the new browser extension work with local vaults? I tried it out, but it only sees my cloud vault. I can go back to the classic extension, but I was hoping to use the same one on all my computers.

1Password for your browser does not support local vaults. If you're limited with being able to access local vaults from your work machine, we recommend using the 1Password classic extension instead.
