Have to click browser icon twice for autofill window to come up

Options

Using Chrome w/ 1PW8 and beta plugin. If I'm on a site and want to autofill credentials, I click on the 1PW extension button. It prompts me to authenticate to unlock (in my case using Touch ID), and I do that successfully. Nothing pops up. I have to click on the button again, at which point the normal 1PW box pops up and I can have it autofill.

1Password Version: 80200056
Extension Version: 2.0.5
OS Version: MacOSX 11.5.2

  • Hi @tvandinter,

Thank for testing out 1Password 8 and the beta of 1Password in the browser.

I'm sorry you are having trouble unlocking 1Password smoothly.

I want to make sure I understand are you clicking on the 1Password button in the Chrome toolbar or the inline button that is in the username or password field?

Inline button (in username or password field):

Thanks @Joshua_ag I mean the 1Password icon in the Chrome Extensions area.
The first image is w/ 1PW locked, so I click on the icon and it pops up the TouchID prompt. I use the TouchID, and the prompt goes away and the icon changes (lock removed), but that's it. I then have to hit the icon again for the 1PW mini window to pop up.

  • @tvandinter,

Thanks so much for the screenshots and extra details. I was able to reproduce this issue and reached out to our developers. They are working on improving this in a future version of 1Password, hopefully very soon. 🤞

    Have a great day!
