Incomplete sync forced a wipe

Last night, I made a bunch of changes on my iPad—item renaming, 2FA additions in various places, notes, etc. I also enabled 2FA on my 1Password account, including adding a hardware security key. These changes all synced fine with my phone. (Though I should note, only my phone app accepts the hardware key for authentication. iPad and Mac only let me use the 6-digit code. The website also accepts the key. This feels like a bug.)

When I got to my desktop, I opened 1PW 8. It asked me for the 6-digit code, which I supplied, and it accepted. However, no other changes synced. Entries had the old names, 2FA wasn't where I added it, etc. I restarted the app—same deal, no changes synced. I opened 1PW 7 and found that it synced just fine.

In the end, I had to remove my account from 1PW 8 and add it again, at which point it pulled the correct details.

    Any chance you could send us the diagnostics from 1Password 8? It is under 1Password > Preferences > Advanced > Send Diagnostics.
    If you could also post the ticket number that will be sent to you, it would be great 🙏

    I think what you said about the bug is correct. The 2FA code didn't really go through and the app failed to authenticate with the server and sync. I am going to open an issue for this to handle it better.
