Subdomain filtering with wildcards

Hello,

I would like to know if it's possible or possible in the future to have subdomain matching for password. For exemple, I've a personnal server hosting many apps, each one of them are hosted on different subdomain on app1.domainName.com, app2.domainName.com and so on.

I don't have only two app, and everytime I connect to one I've to scroll to a loooong list of account linked to this domain and it's really a pain. It's even worst on iOS where the standard 1password extension (global extension, not safari extension) doesn't show the title, so I've to open up the 1password application to get the right password.

It would be awesome to be in an item web address to add a strict mode that support wildcard and specific domain name (with subdomain included).

    Hi @farnots!

    Thank you very much for taking time out of your day to to share this feedback! We appreciate every idea that could make 1Password even better.

    At the moment this is not possible, but I can see how this could be useful to you, so while I cannot make any promises, I can tell you that I have shared your feedback internally :)

    Once again, thank you and have a wonderful day!

    @farnots:

    We do not share timelines or the feature list our developers are working on at any specific moment I am afraid, sorry!

    I'd like to vote up for this enhancement. Especially in environments where you have to manage a lot of subdomains a tool like 1password comes in handy. It is not just having to scroll through long lists. Today I made the same error again, I thought I was saving a new account but actually I have updated an existing one... I hope 1password will be more specific in future and take the subdomain into account as well.

    We use 1password in our company.
    We also have several dozens of subdomains and this development would be very much appreciated.

    Sincerely,

  • Hi @brunolatour, thank you for letting us know. I have cast a vote for this feature on your behalf!

    I would love to see that feature as well and I believe it could be helpful to anyone who's into self-hosting. Please consider my vote for this feature and if possible keep us updated here if anything regarding its implementation changes or moves forward.

  • Hi @norysang:

    Thanks for your feedback! I've added your thoughts to the issue my colleague Peter mentioned.

    +1 as well, need this feature, especially as the self-hosting community is taking off! I have a lot of docker containers running different services off the same domain. Maybe you could select something within a login item to "strictly" associate it to a subdomain/website?

    This would be a killer feature for me!

  • Welcome to the 1Password Community, @Corbot8000!

    I've added your vote for this feature as well, I appreciate you sharing your feedback and details about your use case! 🙂

    Another self hoster who would find this very helpful!

    I would also appreciate it if this would be implemented. I have partial domains with several hundred subdomains and even if I only have dev, staging and live systems, the passwords are not always the same.

  • I've filed a proxy vote on your behalf, @OliverT, thanks for sharing your use case with us!

    +1. I will send a six pack of beer to the developer that implements this.

  • @farnots,

    Nothing we can share at the moment, but rest assured all feedback it taken into consideration. If you're keen to see what's coming down the pipe, I recommend the 1Password for Mac Beta Releases. Even if you're not running the beta itself, the release notes are a great way to see what's on its way to production. Let me know if you have any questions!

    @kirsch,

    Will add your vote (and reward offer) to our tracker on the topic, appreciate you letting us know this is important to you. 👍🏻

    there is various posts about this. I read on closed topic what sounds like one that 1Password is suppose to surface "closest" match.

    Example:
    a.whatever.com
    b.whatever.com
    c.whatever.com

    1p entries:
    A - https://a.whatever.com - job:pw1
    B - http://b.whatever.com - job:pw2
    C - https://c.whatever.com - job:pw3
    D - https://www.whatever.com - job:pw4 <= notice no subdomin

    if i go to b.whatever.com Entry D is always shown first in Quick Access, Safari Extension, and in the in-line auotfill. (this is true across platforms)
    Then Entry C is second
    Entry B is third.

    From my actually 1p (blue is the highlighted entry I want and would think would be first):

    it appears that the ordering ranks http and https differently (preference of https) even though the match should be B.

    Is there way to get that match to surface first? I make use of the title match typing, but would be nice since I use that entry everytime for only that page.
