Firefox classic extension on Mac doesn't work anymore

Hi.

I'm on MacOS Big Sur 11.6 and using Firefox 93.0 as browser. A few weeks ago my 1Password classic extension (4.7.5.90 at the moment) stopped working. The 1Password symbol keeps blinking between normal and greyed-out.

When i try to use the shortcut to fill a username and password in the browser, the 1Password-App (7.9 at the moment, installed from the App Store) asks me to install the already installed browser extension.

In the meantime i tried the new Firefox extension, but i didn't became happy with it. Is the Firefox classic extension already deprecated, so that it doesn't work with the recent Firefox anymore?

I would be thankful for any help!

1Password Version: 7.9
Extension Version: 4.7.5.90
OS Version: MacOS Big Sur 11.6

The 1Password classic extension is still supported. It sounds like we may have to re-establish communication between 1Password and Firefox after some recent update. If you try the following steps, does it change the responsiveness of the classic extension?

    1. Quit 1Password completely by clicking the 1Password menu beside the  logo and choosing Quit 1Password Completely
    2. Quit your browser.
    3. Open and unlock 1Password.
    4. Open your browser and test again to see if the issue is resolved.
