Updated 1Password to 7.9.1 (pretty sure I was running 7.9 before that, if not 7.8.3)
Now the app crashes on launch. It shows the icon splash screen and then fails back to the iOS home screen
- rebooted iPad - issue persists
- force restarted iPad - issue persists
- offloaded app and reloaded - issue persists
- deleted app and reinstalled - issue persists
- deleted app; force restarted; reinstalled app; force restarted - issue persists
- tried turning network activity off / toggled background activity / etc. - issue persists
- reset Network and Location & Privacy settings - issue persists
- used iMazing to side load an older 1Password ipa (version 7.3.6) - this version works fine
• attempted to upgrade to 7.9.1 from the working 7.3.6 - 1Password again crashes on launch as before

Yes, I'm running iOS 13.7. I do music with my iPad and iOS 14 was a pain for a lot of musicians with AUv3 extensions randomly disappearing. iOS 15 seems to have solved that, but as this is a production machine I'm holding off until full user reports have come in and 15 is verified stable.
Note, however, that my iPhone is also running 13.7 and the update to 1Password 7.9.1 went fine there.

I also have discovered that 1Password 7.9.1 crashes on my iPhone 6 running iOS 12.5.5 (the latest possible iOS on this phone).
Hopefully, that fix is coming really soon!

Same issue, 1Password crashes on app start up on my iPhone running iOS 12.5.5.

Same issue, but I'm running iOS 13.2.3 on iPhone X

I have let the developers know, hopefully they will have a fix soon :+1:

Same here, identical settings as OP. Note that this is the latest OS version possible on the device.
I'm sorry but it doesn't really inspire confidence to have the same thing occur so soon after the 7.7.8 issues. It is really unwelcome and it seems quite preventable. Please put measures in place to permanently prevent this going forward.
Kindly escalate again @ag_ana . Thanks.0 -

Hi folks,
UPDATE: As of ~9AM ET today v7.9.2 is available which addresses this issue for those with earlier versions of iOS. We would still recommend upgrading iOS to the latest version.
The best solution here if at all possible would be to update to a newer version of iOS. This problem does not occur on iOS 14 or 15. Failing that, we've submitted 1Password 7.9.2 to Apple to address the issue for iOS 12 and 13 users. Hopefully this will make it through the review process and become available quickly.
If you have a 1Password membership you can access your data via our web app at https://my.1password.com in the meantime. It may be handy to have your Emergency Kit in order to do so.

Ben, is there any way you can provide a downgrade to previous version and that I can easily load on my iPhone11 (without loss of data) as I really do not want to upgrade my phone to IOS 15 as that in itself has other issues.
Thanks0 -
My apologies but that isn't within my ability. The immediate workaround for the problem would be upgrading iOS, or using the web app at https://my.1password.com/. Hopefully the 7.9.2 update makes it through review quickly and without hiccups and is available soon. I'm sorry I don't have anything additional to offer at this time.

Thanks Ben, so assuming I do upgrade my phone IOS to 15.1, will all my password data still be there after the upgrade?
Because at present I can't even do a backup of my password data.0 -
Upgrading iOS shouldn't affect the data within any apps (including 1Password). I've never had an issue when going from one iOS version to another that resulted in data loss. That said, we recommend using a 1Password membership (required, going forward) and having a copy of your Emergency Kit for exactly that reason. If some strange phenomenon were to happen with iOS your encrypted data would still be safely stored off-site. Do you have a 1Password membership? Alternatively, if you do not, do you have your data synced with iCloud, Dropbox, or another device?

Ben, I don't have membership and my last backup was in May2021, but have since then added a lot more data which is not backed up!
I wasn't expecting any issues with the update as previous ones have been without any issues whatsoever.
Is there any option PLEASE to get me back to where I was yesterday?
THANK YOU.0 -
There is not; I'm sorry. For immediate satisfaction the best I could recommend would be updating to the latest version of iOS. The only other alternative I can offer would be to wait for 7.9.2 to become available.

Ben, do you have a timescale for release of 7.9.2?

Out of our hands at this point I'm afraid. We've submitted it to Apple for review and set it to release as soon as it is approved.
