macOS Edge browser extension frequently "disconnects" from 1Password Desktop

As the title states, I'm having issues with the Edge browser extension on macOS -- when it works, it works great. When it doesn't, boy howdy is it frustrating!
When it disconnects/gets out of sync, 1Password desktop does not recognize that the browser extension is even installed. Usually restarting Edge fixes it but... really?
Is there any way you can add a re-sync button or something to reset the connection to the desktop app? It doesn't stay connected reliably, but restarting the browser to fix is a kludge at best.
