Longtime 1P user, new to Bitcoin. Question on security of 1P storage of cold wallets

New to bitcoin, I am trying to figure out the best way of storing my cold wallet. There are obvious known risks for both online versus offline storage. Physical damage versus hacking and so forth online.

Storing the private key or seed in 1P is something I would love to do but would get a facepalm from the security community. Now, I was trying to understand this older article on 1P, https://blog.1password.com/how-to-use-1password-to-manage-cryptocurrency/#set-up-1password-before-investing-in-crypto but the writer stores the private key in 1P.

Not sure I understand the logic. Anyone have any thoughts?

    Hi @doron_katz!

Storing the private key or seed in 1P is something I would love to do but would get a facepalm from the security community.

Storing data inside 1Password means that it is encrypted, so it doesn't seem like a bad idea. Where would you store the private key otherwise? Are there other recommended approaches?

the writer stores the private key in 1P.
Not sure I understand the logic.

    Can you please elaborate?
