Family account not synched

We have a family account, I use a chromebook to manage it so I use the private vault. I created a vault for my wife. She made a change to an entry in her vault (from her macbook) about a week ago but that change is not visible when I look at her vault from my chromebook. I see the entry contents that predate the change she made. Is there something I need to do to get her view of her vault in synch with my view of her vault?

  • Hi @MarkL1:

With a 1Password account, everything should be synced and kept up to date automatically. Is it possible your wife has a standalone vault synced with Dropbox or iCloud that you don't have access to on your Chromebook and edited an item in there? Let me know!

    Thanks @jack.platten ,
I created a vault for my wife when I setup 1password. I'm looking at the entry in that vault right now on her macbook and it has a change she added on 11/22/21. Next to her macbook I have my chromebook looking at the same entry in the same vault and it has the contents prior to 11/22/21, but not the changes she made on 11/22/21. I've had occasion to look at her vault fairly often to get a password for something if she's not around, so I know this has always worked. I'm stumped.

  • Hey @MarkL1:

It sounds like we might need to take a closer look at the setup of your wife's device. I'd like to ask you to have her create a diagnostics report from her Mac:

    Sending Diagnostics Reports (Mac)

Attach the diagnostics to an email message addressed to support+forum@1password.com.

    With your email please include:

You should receive an automated reply from our BitBot assistant with a Support ID number. Please post that number here. Thanks very much!

I sent the diagnostic report about 10 minutes ago but haven't received an automated reply with a support ID. When/if I get that I'll post it. If I don't get it by tomorrow I guess I can try sending the info again.

I received an email #SQI-41732-626 requesting that I run the diagnostic on my chromebook. I replied that my chromebook gave the message "Google Chrome OS can't open this page" when I tried to open the diagnostic.

I tried something, I created a secure note on my wife's mac in her private vault as a test, it does not show up when I view her vault from my chromebook. I also noticed that her 1password page on her mac shows that there are 231 items in her vault, on my chromebook when I open her vault it says there are 181 items. When I installed 1password I created her vault by importing the info from another password manager (lastpass). I haven't really had an occasion to look at her vault much, so perhaps the only thing I see from my chromebook are the items that were originally imported and nothing she's created is showing up when I look at the vault. I hope I'm not doing something stupid...

  • Hello @Markl1,

For posterity, the problem was the nut behind the wheel, I made a mistake when I initially setup 1password. Thanks for the help.

  • Hey @MarkL1:

Glad to hear you got it working in the end. Have a great day!
