How to copy dropbox data from the old 1password windows app to 1password.com.

I just subscribed to 1Password.com
After Downloading and installing 1Password 8 on windows, I don't see the prompt “Do you want to move any data that’s only on this computer to a 1Password account?”.
My data is in Dropbox under windows 1Password V4. I have so many logins and secure notes that I would like to move over to 1Password.com
I don't see the vault that's locally in C:\Users\username\Dropbox\Apps\1Password\1Password.agilekeychain

Thanks for any help.

When you did the install in 1P 8 prompted you to migrate the dropbox (local) items items out. if you said no, then you can do them afterwards as you want.
1 method i found: use ipad, but thats one-by-one by chosing the option to move each item to a new vault. use move, not copy.

I dont know how to invoke the importer again, but imagine that running the 1P8 install again will do it.

At the end, of this i destroyed my dropbox files and the dropbox deleted items to make sure that they were gone off dropbox. i dont want them hanging around there. also deleted by local backups. I am relying on 1pwd to do the backups, except for 1new local encrypted backup set i keep

Im enjoying the new 1p 8 after 5 years on dropbox/local etc. But i didnt store my master password in 1Pwd for autofill. (no logical reason, but i feel better, since i had 5 years of local/dropbox data.

I had the exact same problem. I don't think the import process works with version 8 at all (or at least I could not find it). Luckily I noticed something about version 7 on the help article, so I gave that a try.
    1. First I unistalled version 8.
    2. then installed version 7 from https://1password.com/downloads/windows/, under "Using an older computer" section.
    3. Then I opened my 1password file from drop box. This prompted me to change the file type and archived the old version.
    4. Then I logged in to my cloud 1 pass by clicking "buy 1password", which took me to a log in page. I had already setup a new cloud account.
    5. Once logged in it prompted me to import everything to the cloud.

This all worked well, but its crappy that 1password doesnt make this work natevly in 1pass 8.

    Hi @pakulo:

Since you've subscribed to 1Password.com, you can migrate your data to your 1Password account by following the steps provided here: Migrate your existing 1Password data from standalone vaults to a 1Password account

Just to clarify, you'll need to uninstall 1Password 8, install 1Password 7, and then follow the steps for 1Password 7 provided.

Let me know how you get on with that, or if you run into any trouble along the way.
