i want to create a shared vault for my wife and a separate one for my children

how do i set a password for these vaults that is different to my master password?
and does each family member need to sign up for an account on their phone/laptop?

    Glad to hear you're thinking about getting your family members set up with 1Password! :smile:

    You would need to invite each person to your family account by following these steps: Add and remove family members

    After inviting them, your wife and children would all have access to their own Private vault, that only they would have access to, and the default Shared vault, available to all of your family, including you. If you wanted a separate shared vault for just you and your wife to access, you would create a new vault, and share it with just your wife: Create and share vaults
