Cannot use 1Password 8 for mac with Chrome Beta extension

I am using the latest version of 1Password beta channel on Mac (v8) and can use the stable chrome extension fine. However, the chrome beta extension isn't able to connect to the desktop app and throws this error in logs —

    @pastelsky

    If you're using Chrome Canary, you'll want to make sure that you have the appropriate Native Messaging Hosts present. Can you confirm by following the steps outlined here?
