Why is it not possible to add a file to the item "Software License"

Sometimes a software license consists of a file and not a key in the form of text. I am unable, at least not online, to add a file to the item "Software License".

I thought this was done via the MacOS app but why am I not seeing this via my.1password.com?

We haven't been able to roll out attachments to the web app quite yet. Hopefully that is something that'll be coming in the near future, but I'm afraid I'm not able to make any promises on that. 🤞

I haven't checked yet, but could this cause problems if an item with a linked file is shared? I mean between users who use the app on a Windows / Mac / iOS system?

Nope; the data is still there, the web app just doesn't have the ability to manage it, yet. It doesn't remove it.
