Following https://support.1password.com/export/

As a Linux GUI user, I want to create an export so that I can manually backup all data into a keepass xc database, however when following the above instructions, clicking on 'Export' does not provide any interface for selecting the destination of the exported file.

1Password Version: 8.4.1
Extension Version: Not Provided
OS Version: Linux Ubuntu

  • I'm so sorry you are encountering issues with the export feature.

I was able to reproduce the issue you are seeing on my own machine and can confirm that it has been fixed in the export re-work that has been done since the last stable. Unfortunately, that work has not yet reached the stable channel but it should be in the next release which we expect to be out very soon. I don't have an exact timeline but we are actively working on testing and quality assurance so I hope it'll be a matter of weeks if no issues are found. If you are not willing to wait or if you want to try out new features faster, you can switch to the beta channel but be warned that database migrations are sometimes required for new features so you might not be able to rollback to stable after installing beta (until the next stable release).

If this is something you are comfortable with, you can grab the beta deb from: https://downloads.1password.com/linux/debian/amd64/beta/1password-latest.deb

    I hope that helps.

  • It seems I have to correct my previous message. The latest stable 8.5.0 was just released this morning and should contain a fix for the issue you were seeing. You can find the announcement here: https://releases.1password.com/linux/8.5/

    Have a great day!
