get app icons from googleplay
I recently read a post about getting app icons from google play
it basically said if you copy the app address then delete part of the URL then enter
it displays an app icon which you can save for use in 1password
but I have forgotten how to do it and cannot find the original post
1Password Version: 8.6.0

Hi @keitht1958 !
Here's an example with the 1Password Android app. ;)
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.agilebits.onepassword&hl=de&gl=USRight-click the app icon on this site and open the image in a new window / tab. You will get an image and the following link:
Now just delete "=s180-rw" from the end of that link, and you will get the app icon in 512x512 px.
Save this image and use it in 1Password as app icon. Hope this helps? :)

You're welcome. :)
It's also possible to get images from Apple app store, but that's a little more work. ;)

It would be awesome if the 1P8 app could grab Google Play app icons directly and automatically submit to the Rich Icons service https://support.1password.com/rich-icons-privacy

Hi @nukmicah, I'm not sure if this is something we could implement but I think it's a great idea! I've gone ahead and shared your thoughts with the team. Thanks again!

@ag_timothy 1Password has historically grabbed favicon icons automatically, hence why I was thinking it could grab Google Play /Apple icons automatically for linked apps.
I guess I don't know whether favicons are actually submitted to the Rich Icons service, so at least you could automatically save them to the login as a custom picture even if you can't upload to your Rich Icons service.

@nukmicah thanks for following up. I don't believe the favicons are submitted to the rich icon service but I agree if we could implement adding them as the app icons it could really help keep things up to date efficiently.
