Uninstall from an old computer

I am retiring an old Windows desktop computer which was originally used to set up 1Password. It has been installed on my new desktop computer and laptop, where I wish it to stay. The app is also on my phone. All the data is stored in my "Private" vault. Obviously I don't want to lose my passwords on the other machines when i uninstall the program on my old computer, but I've read that this can happen in some circumstances. So my question is: How do I uninstall 1Password from a single machine without losing my passwords on the other computers?

1Password Version: 7.9.828
Extension Version: 4.75.90
OS Version: Windows 10

    Hi @UpNorth !

Are you using a membership or are you using a local vault? If you are using a membership, you should be able to log in to https://my.1password.com or https://my.1password.eu or https://my.1password.ca. If you are able to log in, and you see all of your passwords, then you should be fine. There should be no problems uninstalling the version on the old computer.

Thank you DenalB - I did log in and saw all my passwords, so proceeded with uninstalling the version on the old computer. It went smoothly, and 1Password continues to show my passwords on the other computers and devices. Thank you for this assistance.

    You’re very welcome, @UpNorth ! 👍

  • Hi @UpNorth, I'm glad you were able to uninstall 1Password on your old computer without any issues! Just like @DenalB mentioned, if you already have all of your data in your 1Password account, it should already be synchronized between all of your devices.
