Problem with field being different when editing a
I am using the newst version of the 8 Beta. When I do not edit the entry I get different values displayed to when I edit -> as the problematic field was the customer number this was very annoying. Any idea as to what is going on?
This is what I see when I am only reading the field:
i.e. the value of the Customer Number is: 0.3.23.156
when I edit the entry:
you can now see the correct customer number!

Hi there @ursus
First of all, thanks for writing in with this confusing behaviour. I've managed to reproduce it locally and I believe I have a decent understanding of what is occurring. For this behaviour to manifest itself, I had to enter the number into a field of URL type. 32bit numbers are technically valid IPV4 address representations and your number is being interpreted as such. You can see this in action with a web browser (ex. in firefox, enter
https://202652
in the address bar and you will be taken tohttps://0.3.23.156
). Can you double check if re-creating the field using a Text type stops this behaviour for you as well?In the meantime, I've started a discussion with my team and hopefully we'll be able to reduce the confusion around this behaviour.

wow - ok, that is something that I would never have thought of 😊 You are 100% correct -> I must have edited the first heading to read customer number! As you can see in the screenshot above it says "+ add another website" so the first field must also be an HTTP field!
Thank you very much for finding this for me - Have a great day!

So glad this was helpful, @ursus - and cheers to @Mathieu_1P for the insightful identification of the problem! Wow indeed. 🥳
