Quick access not working
A few days ago quick access stopped working for me. I'm not sure if it was something to do with the latest MacOS update or 1Password's update.
1Password Version: 1Password for Mac 8.7.0
Extension Version: Version 2.3.1
OS Version: Version 12.3 (21E230)

Make sure to select a vault / collection in Quick Access.

Quick access is not launching

For me, quick access launches, but searching in it finds nothing, until I relaunch it.
It's like every few days, a new problem like this arises.
Sorry for expressing my frustration.

If I close 1Password and Relaunch 1Password sometimes it fixes the problem for a period of time. And then I’ll have the same issue where quick access does not launch again. It’s a beta product so I understand. I’m just looking to report this bug

@dgbeecher We had an issue come up recently where quick access was not returning results the first time it came up after a lock. This should now be fixed in the latest beta but has not yet made it into the production release. If you are running the beta channel, could you try updating and let us know if you are still encountering the issue?
@Ben_Singer I Would love to get to the bottom of the issue you are facing. To that end, could I ask you to submit a diagnostic report? From the computer that is exhibiting the issue:
- Open 1Password.
- Press
⌘,
on your keyboard. - Click Advanced in the new window that appears.
- Click Send Diagnostics.
- Click Reveal.
- Attach the .1pdiagnostics file to an email message addressed to support+forum@1password.com.
With your email please include:
A link to this thread: https://1password.community/discussion/128007/quick-access-not-working Your forum username: Ben_Singer
You should receive an automated reply from our BitBot assistant with a Support ID number. Please post that number here. Thanks very much!

Sorry to double ping you @Ben_Singer.
I'm digging into this a bit and I hope to exclude a few possibilities but I am unable to replicate the behaviour on my end. A few of my teammates have seen it happen but are unable to force it to happen again. Could I ask you to run the app with debug logging enabled before you collect a diagnostics report?
- Exit 1Password
- In a terminal, run
/Applications/1Password.app/Contents/MacOS/1Password --log debug
- Unlock and use 1Password until the bug is triggered
- Collect and send in the diagnostic report as detailed above.
Edit: Sorry I didn't notice your message came in while I was typing my follow up.

Hi @Mathieu_1P -- I'm using "1Password for Mac 8.7.0 80700002, on BETA channel" -- and I just summoned quick access first thing this morning, unlocked 1Password, started searching, and no results were returned. So I pressed escape, summoned quick access, started searching, and this time it worked. It's a small issue but I imagine still something you want to fix. And if indeed I'm on the latest beta, then it seems it hasn't been fixed yet. (Or should I switch to the nightly builds?)

Oh sorry I’m no help with this I’m not having that issue at all. The issue was when I hit the shortcut to launch quick access nothing was happening. But when I quit 1Password and relaunched it it would start working again for a few searches and then stop working again.

Hi @Ben_Singer -- I guess I had hijacked your thread to report what seemed like a similar issue (ie, Quick Access appears but searching finds nothing). I think the developers are keeping things straight and trying to figure out both issues separately. Sorry though to confuse things somewhat!

No problem at all.

Hi @dgbeecher. The issue you were experiencing should be fixed in 1Password 8.7.0 80700007 and later builds. You should be able to get an update by going into the preferences (
⌘,
or via the app menu "1Password" => "Preferences") and clicking the "Check for Updates" button in the "About" sections.0 -
Thanks for the submission. Now that we have a direct line of communication going, let's continue via email so as not to duplicate efforts. Someone should be with you as soon as possible.
