Request: option to allow SSH access when 1Password is locked?

I have 1Password set to auto-lock after 10 minutes of inactivity.

This means that in my daily workflow, I need to re-type my password every time I perform an SSH operation such as interacting with git remotes etc... This gets annoying pretty fast, and the options to avoid this are not ideal:

  • Set 1Password to never lock after inactivity, which is less secure
  • Don't use 1Password for ssh keys that are used often (multiple times an hour)

Would it be possible to have a way to allow certain keys to be used even when 1Password is locked?

Lock after 10 minutes of inactivity is for lazy people who leave their PC alone without locking it. Such timeouts are a PITA, if you ask me.
Instead, educate yourself to lock your PC whenever you stand up. Make a habit: sitting in front of PC=unlock PC. Standing up from PC=lock PC before standing up, even if you intend to return in 1 minute. With Windows, this is just pressing WIN+L.
This way 1Password is inaccessible behind the PC lock and you can vastly increase or remove this inactivity timeout.
