Secure note display formatting on 8.6

When I edit a secure note with indentations and extra line spacing it looks good as I edit. But once I save it all my formatting is gone. Just a list without my spacing or formatting to separate sections.
It worked fine in version 7.
Is this normal behavior or something still being worked on?

I wonder if this is related to Markdown formatting. Does anything change if you toggle this option?

To clarify, I unchecked it and now it formats correctly.
