Sharing of items via link is cumbersome

Would be great if we could share our passwords more easily via Share action on desktop app. Currently, you need to do:

  1. open item you want in 1pw app (quick access > search > open in 1pw OR 1pw > search > enter)
  2. click on small menu icon
  3. click on Share
  4. (optionally) set your preferences
  5. click on Get Link to Share
  6. click on Copy Link
  7. Esc / click on Done

As a “keyboard maniac”, that's a LOT of unnecessary clicks, so here are some improvements I think this process could use:

  1. keyboard shortcuts for points 5/6 → instead of clicking Get Link To Share, Enter or Ctrl + Enter would be a great alternative. Same for Ctrl + C as alternative for clicking Copy Link
  2. Share available in Quick Access as an action
  3. Some keyboard shortcut for Share when item is selected, preferably same for Quick Access & desktop app. (Let's use Ctlr + S, but that's probably a bad shortcut due to "Save" association)
4. And optionally, to completely polish it, a very basic configuration of default preferences for the link sharing options. A default duration & default "is 1-time only" would nearly completely smash the step 4. (emails are most likely not worth it for default prefs)

This way you could easily do: Quick Access > type for search > Ctrl + S > Enter > Ctrl + C > Esc to have a link in your clipboard

  • Hey @Roukanken:

Thanks for your feedback here on this! I can definitely see how it would be handy to configure some defaults as well as share from Quick Access, so I've shared your thoughts internally.

In the meantime however, you can skip a few steps by right clicking the item in the item list, and choosing Share, rather than clicking the menu icon followed by Share. Let me know how you get on with that!
