Cleaning my vaults
Hi
I've just changed from lastpass to 1password and I need some help tidying the mess I've made! In the staggered process of converting and needing to revert back to lastpass and back again to 1password I now have 4-5 versions of the same entries. I couldn't find how to rectify this after searching through the help and 'duplicates' unless I was on a mac. So I created another vault and imported again. But I was unable to delete my original vault 'private'. Now because its getting very messy, I've created a further vault 'new ones' to keep the new passwords I'm making as distinct from the original import. I probably have other new ones hidden in private vault, but I'll give up on those, unless I can remove duplicates.
Any suggestions of how I can sort myself out are welcome! e.g. delete all entries in a vault, move between vaults, remove duplicates... Pointing me to a help page may be all I need.
Thank you

Hi @PT7 !
There is an article for moving from LastPass to 1Password. Did you follow it?
https://support.1password.com/import-lastpass/If you have all your entries in a specific vault, you could try to delete all entries from the private fault. Just select all entries and delete them. After deletion, you could find all of these items in the folder "Recently Deleted" if you want to restore them.
Now you could switch to the newly created vault and move all items into your private vault. Here's an article how to do it.
https://support.1password.com/move-copy-items/A good start could be this article to get to know 1Password for Windows.
https://support.1password.com/getting-started-windows/Maybe this helps a bit?

Hello @PT7, I'm sorry to learn of these troubles! We know that sometimes things can get complicated. @DenalB has offered some good general advice here about how to handle duplicate items, but we also have a team who would be happy to help you with this.
If you can send a brief email to support@1Password.com, and say in your message that you've run into an issue moving from another password manager to 1Password, we can provide customized advice for you. Please include a link to this discussion as well, since you've so clearly described the issue at hand, and that will both help our team understand the issue and make sure you don't have to type everything all over again. 👍
Thanks, and we'll look forward to helping you sort this out!

Thank you for your reply.
I used the support page to do the original copy but not all items copied over. I went back to using lastpass. Later my next attempt did work, but I didn't have time to follow up (& fix duplications) and continued with lastpass. Anyway, I now have 3 copies of everything in the Private vault.
There are 2800+ items in the Private vault. How do I select all to delete?
Another thought, maybe I'd be better to delete my account and start again? (& export my new password first). At the moment I'm solely using 1password.

Thank you for your reply. I didn't see I had a reply and seem to have found a solution. I wrote a simple macro with ui.vision / Selenium IDE to step through and delete each item in the Private vault. It took about 3 hours. But now I'm left with no way of identifying which passwords are new ones, if any, in the other vault. (Oh, plus, seems I can't move passwords between vaults in bulk, either). I can't believe there is no way to order the passwords by date. A bit gob smacked actually. But according to the forums I'm seeing staff posts that say 'that's a good idea' (It's always been part of Lastpass, I think, and very helpful). Does it really need consideration? Here is a scenario - I've saved a password recently, but it's not showing up for the website, the search doesn't uncover it, so now I need to search the passwords from the last 10 days. I'm sure there's lots more.

Hi @PT7, sorry to hear of this. Especially having to write any kind of custom code is the kind of scenario we'd like to help you avoid.
Fortunately, 1Password does have the ability to sort items by date. And we agree that it's important to be able to do this!
Here's how it works:
- Open 1Password on your desktop (for example, this is 1Password for Windows if you have a PC, and so on).
- Unlock the app with your usual account password.
- Click the downward-pointing arrow icon towards the top of your list of items.
- Select either date created or date modified - whatever suits your needs!
I hope this is helpful, and again our onboarding team at support@1Password.com will be happy to provide further customized help to make sure your setup comes together nicely.
