Security option Pin Code works intermittently.

Setting security option to Pin Code works intermittently. It keeps forgetting that the pin code option is set and asks for the master password instead. I then check and see that the pin code option is still set.

After messing with it for awhile, I saw a pattern. If I set the pin code then completely close out of the 1Password app, attempting to open the app again asks for the master password and not the pin. However, autofill still works and asks for the pin. The only way to get back into the 1Password app is to enter the master password. Setting the biometric unlock does not exhibit this erratic behavour.

  • Hi @MonkeyHarp,

Sorry for the confusion, this is the intended behaviour for PIN unlock. Biometric unlock works differently because the level of security required for its use in 1Password is much higher. If a biometric scanner (for example, a fingerprint scanner) doesn't meet the required security strength for 1Password, you won't be able to use it to unlock the app. For PIN unlock, we require your master password to unlock the app first, then with 1Password open in the background, you can use your PIN to quickly unlock 1Password.
