Document storage? Or now downloading each time?

Seems as though V7 files/documents would store "offline". Now it appears in V8 that they download each time? "downloading" appears when selecting an item that was already downloaded.

Hopefully that is not the case, I've had to pull up docs in the past where I had no connectivity.

Also, if it does store offline, something to denote the file has been downloaded and is available offline would be awesome. Perhaps a small down arrow on the left side of the icon, much like the favorite star?
