v8 only sync certain vaults

In v7, I used to be able to only sync certain vaults to a given computer. I'm a freelancer, so I have multiple client-issued laptops I use 1Password with. So, for example, on AcmeCorp's laptop, I used to be able to only sync the AcmeCorp vault. That way, all my other personal passwords are not visible / synced to their corporate machine.
In v8, it looks like this is no longer possible. I can create a "Collection" with just the single vault added, but it still seems like all my other passwords are synced to the machine. Previously, when I unselected the vault from the preferences pane in v7, it felt like the passwords weren't even synced over, which was preferable.
Am I missing some way of doing this in v8? Is there a new workflow I should use instead?

I came here looking for the same thing. It looks like that behavior is changed to Collections. See: https://support.1password.com/collections/

Hi, came to post effectively the same thing. I'm still using 1Password 6, I have a license for my home use, and a separate license for my work computer. I sync the work-specific items via a Dropbox folder that belongs to the work account.
In this way, my personal vaults are not syncronized or shared at all with the work account.
What is the best way to reproduce this if upgrading to 8? I do not want even a hypothetical possibility of the work computer gaining access to my personal vaults (eg if it the work computer remotely taken over while I have my account unlocked), but I want my personal devices to have access to both my personal and work vaults.

I would like to add another vote for local vaults, and for the same reason cited by @ljohnston, @benwade and others. I currently use 1Password 7 with a family subscription for my personal stuff, and with a local vault for my work-related credentials, since my employer has strict policies about this. With 1P7 this is easy, but makes it impossible for me to migrate to 1P8. I hope you can reconsider the possibility of adding support for local vaults in a future version of 1P.
If I have a separate work account, can I only, and exclusively, sign in to that account from the work machine, without the possibility of accessing the personal account's data?
