Universal autofill keybind issue

Hello, I've recently downloaded 1password 8 for macos and I ran into an issue with the Universal autofill keybind. The instructions state that you should use command - \ to use this new autofill feature, however when I tried to do that on my Italian keyboard nothing happens. Now, I figured the \ key on an US keyboard is somewhere else, my \ is on the left of 1 (where the tilde is on the American keyboard), so when I tried to follow the instructions and pressed command-\ on my own keyboard, nothing happened, and I suspect this is a major source of confusion for many users which don't use an US keyboard. I then went into the preferences trying to set up command-\ to work on my keyboard, with my own \ position on the keyboard, but when I try to record the keybind, when I press those keys, something even stranger happens, because it gets recorded as command - < instead, and < is the key to the left of Z in my layout, so it's totally somewhere else away from the key I'm pressing! There is actually no way to bind command+\ , which is the key to the left of 1 in my layout. I think there must be some bug with non-US keyboard layouts, because as it stands, I'm pressing \ on my keyboard and it gets recorded as a totally different key. The autofill feature does indeed work just fine for me, but not with the default command -\ keybind, I have to go choose a different one if I want to use it. If you could verify this is indeed a bug or there's something I can do on my end to fix this issue, please let me know.

  • Hi @Raekon:

Thanks for reporting this. We're actively tracking issues with non-US keyboard layouts. In the meantime, using an alternate keyboard shortcut as you've used would be the best bet.
