A Longtime Standalone User Not Thrilled About 1P8 Migration and subscriptions
Hi team,
I’m honestly having a lot of issues and frustration migrating from one password seven is a standalone app to the online web based version that comes with one password eight. I have myriad frustrations but I will focus on one thing that makes absolutely no sense to me right now.
When logging into the new My 1Password interface, the app itself wants to autofill credentials that were created by 1P following the upgrade to version 8 and/or the creation of my online account. This to me seems like a huge security risk. Convinient, sure, but there is absolutely no need for anyone to actually input their password on the website itself? Beyond just clicking the auto fill that comes up for the entry that 1P autocreated. There is even a note in the entry that the app created that points to the ease of use on one password.com, but I would like to disable this pop up for this website only as this is the main storage for everything else.
I’m also really sad about how the web-based system handles documents. what I’ve noticed is that all the files that were previously independently attached to various items (including secure notes and ID cards for various things) were not converted to documents. This is a rather tedious task as I have now independently taken those documents and uploaded them individually.
This creates a problem because what results is that I can no longer attach multiple files to a single entry within 1Password so my documents tab is now somewhat polluted with additional documents that would otherwise be attached to one entry previously. I can link them, but that only works within the desktop application for local use/viewing. If I want access to these things beyond my local machine, I must upload each document individually. I really dislike the way 1Password web seems to handle documents. Unless I’m missing something here.
