1Password 8 automatically moves 1Password 7 to the trash
I finally decided to install 1Password 8 (despite loathing the 1P8 beta), and was a bit surprised to notice that the installer moved 1Password 7 to the Trash without asking me first.
I was under the impression that the two could live side-by-side, and that it would be relatively easy to downgrade to 1P7, so why did the 1P8 installer move the 1P7 application to the Trash without asking me?

Hello @Ragnorok! 👋
I don't recommend running 1Password 8 and 1Password 7 at the same time on the same Mac since that can cause issues with communication between the 1Password app and 1Password in the browser. The 1Password 8 installer will move 1Password 7 to the Trash and then keep a backup copy of the 1Password 7 app in a ZIP folder located in your Mac's Applications folder.
If you would like to use 1Password 7 alongside 1Password 8 then double-click on "1Password 7.app.zip" to extract the backup copy.
I hope that helps. 😊
