Why do I need to upgrade to 1P eight?

7 seems to do everything I need on my 19,1 iMac Monterey 12.4. Password fill in from my vault is fast as I can click. I got room in all data to add notes. Why 8?

1Password Version: 7.94

Completely agree. I already reverted to version 7.

  • Hello @blackxacto!

With the caveat that I can only speak for myself (and I'm obviously biased), I've updated to 1Password 8 on all of my Macs because I wanted access to the better performance of 1Password 8 as well as all the cool new features. Here are two features that made me update without hesitation:

You can read more about 1Password 8's new features here: 1Password 8 for Mac

    I hope that helps. 😊

I regret going to V8. While it has some nice features, the core functionality is not as good (at least for the way I use it). It always defaults to the home screen after the application is reopened. I would like it to open to the log ins. There is no way on the iOS apps to paste passwords. Personally, I don't like look as The only improvement to me is the ability to log into all mac apps, but that is something I only use every couple of months. Unfortunately my membership (annual) just renewed a couple of weeks ago.

If you don't need any of the few new features stay on 1PW7. Way too many features of the previous versions are still missing or require many more clicks than before.
    Some examples:

    • awful new search UI that requires extra steps to get results
    • no reordering of fields
    • missing item counts (they are actually available but well hidden and barely usable)
    • some date fields still ignore locale and use US notation instead
    • missing drag and drop in several places
    • options that were easily available are no hidden in menus and require extra clicks
