Quick Access with Firefox Developer Edition

Hello! I am trying out 1Password 8 and the quick access menu seems to work in Safari and Chrome, and normal Firefox, but not Firefox Developer Edition. The browser extension works, but it requires a separate keyboard command and I'd be nice if I could use the same command everywhere. As a web developer I'd love to be able to use my browser and 1Password 🙂

Here's a video of this working in Safari, but not Firefox: http://s.edwardloveall.com/1password-quick-access-firefox.mp4

1Password Version: 8.7.0
Extension Version: 2.3.3
OS Version: macOS 12.3.1

  • Hello @edwardloveall, thank you for raising this issue. I checked it out and: you're right. It doesn't look like Universal Autofill supports filling in Firefox Developer Edition. However, I've sent over an official feature request for us to add support for Universal Autofill in that app, and (while I can't promise anything in advance) it's my hope that our developers can take that up soon.

Thanks for letting us know how we can make the app more useful for you. We appreciate you reaching out! 🤝

    Thanks @PeterG_1P

  • On behalf of Peter, you're welcome.

  • Hi @edwardloveall, - we're back with news sooner than I anticipated. This feature has been implemented in the most recent Beta release of 1Password 8 for Mac (8.8.0-94), and if you're open to switching to the Beta channel it should be available to you now. 🙌

Given that it has already made it into Beta, it will likely also be appearing in a Production channel update of 1Password in the near future, too, after it has gone through the requisite testing. I don't have any specific dates on that, though.

I hope this is helpful - let me know if you decide to take the Beta plunge!
