Good catch! You can print a CSV I guess?

...thx this eluded me...but printing CSV´s is not as "beautiful" as printing the items as it was before....

And moreover I assume "notes" in the login item etc. don't get into the CSV, which can be a big problem. One has to create a separate item for a note for a login to get it printed. That would be a troublesome workaround.

  • Hey @PianoMax:

Thanks for asking. Generally speaking, due to the nature of what you're storing in 1Password, we tend to discourage printing to physical paper. I have more than 600 items in my personal 1Password account, so re-typing all of those items would be a non-starter for me. Additionally, any changes you make will likely necessitate printing pages over again, resulting in duplicate pages. Unless you're printing one item per page (which is time consuming in it's own right), you'll likely have to reprint your entire database whenever you make a change.

A digital export is going to be more viable than a printed copy, however both have the caveat that they completely defeat all of the protections of 1Password.

How to export data from 1Password

We'd generally recommend making sure you have a physical copy of your Emergency Kit in a safe place, with your account password written on it. This will ensure you have access to all of your data, without having to worry about keeping a physical copy up to date.

Get to know your Emergency Kit

Even if 1Password (the company) were to disappear off the face of the planet tomorrow, which is unlikely as we're growing and healthy, you would still be able to access all your data. Your information is cached on each of the devices you have the 1Password app on. Syncing would no longer work, and you of course would want to export your data soon after that anyway, but us going out of business would not prevent you from accessing your data.
