Bad install: Family member's Mac is registered as organizer instead of member
I upgraded my wife's Mac from 6 to 7 and put in the registration info for our family account. I already have my Mac set up as the primary account. I did not invite her as a member at the time. We had both been using local storage only, with WLAN syncing to our phones from our separate machines.
I just sent the invite, but want to gracefully untangle this so that
- there is only one machine as the prime.
- she is properly included as a invitee (I sent her an invite, which she accepted, but I don't know how this affects things.)
Thanks for any tips.

Hi @groovamatic,
I'm sorry for any confusion. Computers/devices cannot be organizers, only people can. If your wife is an organizer and you'd prefer she not be, you can change her role:
- Sign in at https://start.1password.com/people
- Select your wife from the list
- Check the Family Member box instead of the Family Organizer box
(changes are automatically saved)
The 1Password app on your wife's Mac should be signed into her account within your membership, not yours. If you've signed her into your account instead by accident please send us an email to
support@1password.com
with that information and we can help you through that.I hope that helps!
