Password being filled is different than the one saved. 1Pwd8

Am creating login at missouriquiltco.com. Used iPwd recommendation (that included special characters) and saved it in 1Pwd. But when I hit Save on the website, it says special characters can't be used. So created a different 1Pwd password without special chars. Plugged that in and created the account on the website. Account was created successfully. I logged out of it, then back in using 1Pwd autofill. Site says it's the wrong password. But, if I copy the password from 1Pwd and paste it into the login, that works!

Unable to reveal what the two passwords (the autofilled one and the pasted one) are in the login screen, but they are different lengths. So, some part of 1Pwd evidently has saved the correct password, but some other part of 1Pwd is filling the wrong password and I cannot find where that wrong one is to correct this.

Tried closing both 1Password and Chrome and restarting; same result. Tried it in Firefox, same result.

Also, I cannot find where in 1Pwd8 the list of generated passwords is kept.

Hello @barbless, thank you for taking the time to share this in detail, and I'm sorry to learn of the complexity.

My first idea would be to try to find the total list of password items that are associated with this website in your 1Password app. Given that you've created the logins recently, I'd suggest the following:

    1. Open 1Password 8 for Mac
    2. Select the downward-pointing arrow at the top of your list of items (right below the search bar)
    3. Select Date Created and Newest first

If your two items have been created around roughly the same time, you should see them there.

You can also search for missouriquiltco.com, or similar terms, to see what that turns up. (sounds cozy)

Lastly, you can also see your password generator history like this:

    1. Open your browser
    2. Click the 1Password icon in your browser toolbar and unlock if necessary
    3. Press the key-shaped icon
    4. Select Password Generator History

Let me know if these prove useful - we'll be here if you could use any further assistance!

Great response, PeterG_1P, thanks! Followed your instructions. There is only one entry for the site in 1Pwd8 All Categories, sorted by Date Created (or Date Modified). Password for that entry is the one that works for the cut/paste login.

I appreciate knowing how to find the Generated Password History. As expected, there are two entries there - the one described above, and another, generated a minute before that one, that has the special character in it. (Presuming this is the one that is stuck somewhere in the Autofill algorithm??)

I see that I have the option to delete a generated password from that history list. That's what I'm tempted to do for at least the earliest password if not both. However, this seems like a significant bug, so holding off doing that in case you need me to create a log or something.
